This was such a fun photoshoot at Crescent Falls for several reasons, including a beautiful couple, lots of laughs, road tripping and absolutely stunning views. But mostly because of the collaboration that went on here! A good friend of mine, Peter, is a dance and nature photographer and we had chatted about how we both wanted to shoot at Crescent Falls soon. He put out a model call for a model who a) is a dancer--for himself AND b) has a partner--for me. Insert Kim, an amazingly talented dancer and lovely human being and her hilarious partner of 6 years, Taj.
It's about 3.5 hours to Crescent Falls, so we loaded up on snacks and coffee and hit the road before the sun rose. We enjoyed the drive along Icefields Parkway and Saskatchewan Crossing. We hiked a short distance, about 1km down a rather steep hill to the falls with Kim IN her dress, hat and clothes in tow--such a trooper. There were quite a few tourists which we hoped would thin out, but never really did so we just shot away anyway!
I got Kim and Taj to dance, cuddle and have some fun in front of the waterfall. They even sat on the edge of the cliff which scared the sh*t out of me. Thankfully everyone was very careful and safe and we ended up with some gorgeous photos of the two of them. After our couple's session Kim changed outfits and was put to work right away. She started dancing and jumping for Peter in front of the waterfall. Dancer's are SO impressive to me, and I definitely believe in a different lifetime I'd be a dancer.
Off to Abraham
On the way to the falls we had passed by Abraham Lake, a huge windy lake that is a bright green-blue colour. We couldn't resist and stopped in on our way back. I love the way the wind ripped through their hair and clothes, adding to the wild and free spirit of the day.
